The Kunka District in the The Church of Pentecost, Obuasi Area, organised a Women’s Ministry Cooking Competition on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the Kunka Central Auditorium.
The event, held as part of the District’s Love Month activities, brought together participants from the nine local assemblies to showcase their culinary skills and promote fellowship among the women. The programme was organised under the leadership of Pastor Alex Baiden and his wife, Mrs. Faustina Baiden, together with Deaconess Joyce Amoah, the District Women’s Ministry Leader, and the Ministry’s executive committee.
The competition commenced at 9:00 a.m., with contestants preparing a variety of local and continental dishes. By early afternoon, an impressive display of meals, local beverages, fruits and vegetables had been arranged for tasting and assessment. The event drew enthusiastic support from members across the District.
In his address, Pastor Alex Baiden commended the women for their invaluable role in nurturing families through their dedication and care, particularly in the home. He noted that the competition was not only to celebrate their culinary abilities but also to encourage the sharing of knowledge and skills, especially in preparing uncommon local dishes, in line with the spirit of Love Month.
Judging was based on criteria including cleanliness, kitchen organisation, table presentation, knowledge of the dishes prepared, and taste. At the end of the keenly contested event, Deaconess Cecilia Memorial Temple (CAMT) emerged as champions with 77 points.
The programme successfully fostered unity, creativity and excellence among the women, all to the glory of God.
