The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost and President of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), Apostle Dr Eric Nyamekye, has urged ministers and their spouses to embrace sacrifice, diligence, and holistic community service as core pillars of effective ministry.
Addressing pastors on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at the Juaboso Central Assembly in the Sefwi Juaboso Area of the Church, the Chairman noted that ‘the measure of ministry is the amount of sacrifice.’
He explained that true service sometimes involves attending to people who may not seem deserving and that sacrifice can at times feel like a total loss. The real success of ministry, he emphasized, is the degree to which the life of Christ flows through the minister.
Using the metaphor of a pipe, Apostle Dr Nyamekye encouraged pastors to cultivate purity and character: ‘The pipe inside of you should not only be open; it must be flawless.’
He urged ministers to work hard, serve wholeheartedly, and become pastors for the entire community – not only members of The Church of Pentecost. He called on them to ‘possess’ their communities, bless the chiefs and people, and yet not neglect the flock God has entrusted to them.
Speaking to pastors’ wives, he encouraged them to support their husbands by taking active roles in Bible studies, prayer, and ministry efforts. He advised them to maintain harmony with officers, pray daily with their spouses, and prioritize the education and welfare of their children.
He further recommended planning extra classes for their children or considering enrollment at the Koforidua Pentecost Preparatory School, which now has a modern hostel facility. He also reminded ministers to take their leave and rest.
Drawing from Colossians 4:13, he stressed that prayer is hard work, while Ecclesiastes 7:8 and Proverbs 16:4 served as reminders to stay committed, work together, and trust God to perfect all things concerning their lives and ministries.
Also present at the meeting was the Area Head for Sefwi Juaboso, Apostle Shadrack Ohene-Asa Otu. PENT NEWS
