A police operation in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality has resulted in the arrest of five individuals connected to an armed robbery at a mining site in Dompim. The suspects allegedly fired shots and made off with gold concentrate during the attack.
One of the suspects, Akwasi Abban, was apprehended by workers at the scene and later confessed to his involvement, naming the site’s foreman, Ebenezer Soore, as an informant in the robbery. Following this confession, police intelligence led to the arrests of Elijah Arthur, also known as ‘Possible’, Elisha Arthur, known as ‘Skonzy’, and David Agyarko, referred to as ‘Big Man’.
All five suspects have been remanded into prison custody as investigations continue into the robbery. Authorities are working to gather more information regarding the incident and any potential connections to other criminal activities in the area.
