Pastor Benjamin Kwaku Amankwaatia, the Buokrom Estate District Minister of The Church of Pentecost, has asserted that the blood of Jesus provides both protection and empowerment in the life of a believer, serving as a means of defense against spiritual harm and a tool to achieve victory in spiritual warfare.

“The blood of Jesus is both a defensive and offensive weapon for believers,” he declared.

Speaking at the New Tafo Zone Easter Convention on Good Friday morning, April 18, 2025, at the New Tafo M/A Division School Park in the New Tafo Area, under the theme, “Jesus Christ — The Lamb of God Who Takes Away the Sin of the World,” based on John 1:29, Hebrews 1:3, and 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, he focused on two key concepts: “Lamb and Sin.”

Pastor Amankwaatia explained that the term ‘lamb,’ derived from the original Greek word “arnion,” signifies ‘the exalted one.’ He emphasised that Jesus, referred to as ‘the Lamb of God,’ is gentle, compassionate, loving, and innocent— qualities that led Him to suffer willingly and die to take away the sins of the world. This, he contrasted with Satan, who embodies cruelty, wickedness, and destruction.

On the concept of ‘sin,’ he elaborated that it is translated from the Greek term “hamartia,” which means ‘missing the mark,’ ‘failure,’ ‘taking a wrong course,’ ‘wrongdoing,’ or guilt.’

Referencing John 8:34-35, James 1:15, and Romans 5:12, Pastor Amankwaatia highlighted the causes and devastating effects of sin, which necessitated atonement. He compared the Old Testament’s cumbersome process of atonement, involving repeated animal sacrifices, with Jesus’ ultimate sacrifice, which addressed sin once and for all.

“Jesus is the ultimate and perfect sacrifice for humanity,” he stated emphatically.

Pastor Amankwaatia also underscored the transformative power of Jesus’ blood, explaining that it reconciles believers to God, grants them peace with Him, and equips them to overcome the devil and his schemes, as stated in Revelation 12:10-11.
