The former General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi, has revealed that the resurrection power of Christ unites believers and assures them of eternal life and spiritual elevation, sharing in His victory over sin and death.

Apostle Kumi-Larbi, who is an Executive Council member and current Ashaiman Area Head of the church, said this on Sunday, April 20, 2025, during the climax of the Ashaiman Area 2025 Easter Convention held at Kakasunaka No. 1 Park, Michel Camp.

Speaking on the theme, ‘The Empty Grave: A Sign of the Resurrection Power,’ he indicated that Jesus Christ uniquely prophesied His death and resurrection, distinguishing Him from all other religious figures.

Referencing Matthew 12:38–40, he drew parallels between Jonah’s three days in the belly of the whale and Jesus’ resurrection on the third day, highlighting the fulfillment of prophecy and the divine nature of Christ’s mission.

‘The empty tomb is not just a historical fact; it’s the cornerstone of our faith,’ Apostle Kumi-Larbi declared. He cited 1 Corinthians 15:1–8 to affirm that the Christian’s belief is anchored in the death and resurrection of Jesus, events corroborated by multiple eyewitness accounts, including appearances to Mary Magdalene, Peter, James, and over 500 others.

Addressing the skepticisms surrounding the resurrection, Apostle Kumi-Larbi refuted theories suggesting that Jesus merely fell into a coma, that His body was stolen, or that witnesses experienced hallucinations. He pointed to John 19:33–34, which details the piercing of Jesus’ side, as evidence of His actual death, thereby validating the miracle of His resurrection.

‘The resurrection is God’s affirmation of Jesus as His Son and our Saviour,’ he stated, adding, ‘It guarantees our own resurrection and signifies Christ’s ultimate victory over death.’

Drawing from Colossians 3:1–4 and Ephesians 2:6, Apostle Kumi-Larbi encouraged believers to live in the reality of their union with Christ, seated with Him in the heavenly realms. He urged Christians to shed sinful behaviours and embrace a life reflective of their resurrected Lord.

‘Because the tomb is empty, we have every reason to celebrate,’ he said, adding, ‘Let us live as people transformed by the resurrection, embodying the hope and power it brings.’

The Area Head joined the Michel Camp Zone, which comprises the Goshen, Michel Camp, and Gbetsile Districts.
