Former Minister of Education and Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe Constituency, Dr. Osei Yaw Adutwum, has extended a generous donation to support traders affected by the recent fire outbreak at Adum in Kumasi.

Dr. Adutwum donated GH¢100,000 and 200 bags of cement to assist the victims in rebuilding their businesses and livelihoods, describing the gesture as a contribution towards sustaining Ghana’s economy through small and medium enterprises.

The devastating fire, which occurred on Friday, March 24, 2025, gutted several shops and stalls within the busy commercial hub of Adum, destroying goods and properties valued at millions of Ghana cedis.

During a visit to the site on Thursday, April 10, 2025, Dr. Adutwum expressed his heartfelt sympathies to the affected traders. He also appealed to individuals, corporate bodies, and philanthropic organizations to support the victims in their recovery efforts.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the affected traders, their chairman, Nana Bobbie Ansah, expressed profound gratitude to the former Education Minister. He also called on other benevolent individuals and organizations to come to the aid of the victims as they work to rebuild their livelihoods.
