The Children’s Ministry Director of The Church of Pentecost, Pastor Samuel Avornyo, on Thursday, March 19, 2026, officially launched one of the ministry’s flagship initiatives, the Young Royals Initiative, at the Krachi Lakeside Central Assembly in the Kete-Krachi Area.
The initiative, launched under the theme, “Raising Young Royals for the Unleashing Agenda,” seeks to partner the Chieftaincy Ministry to identify children from royal backgrounds, train and equip them with leadership skills grounded in the values and principles of the Kingdom of God, and prepare them to positively influence their spheres for Christ.
Speaking on the theme and referencing 2 Kings 12:1–2, Pastor Avornyo stated that from time immemorial, the chieftaincy institution has partnered with the priestly office in serving the needs of the people. He explained that God continually seeks leaders who will rule with integrity so that His blessings may rest upon His people.
Using the biblical example of King Joash, Pastor Avornyo noted that although Joash, who became king at the age of seven, came from the lineage of Ahab and Ahaziah – known for idol worship – he did what was right in the sight of the Lord because of the godly instruction he received from the priest, Jehoiada.
Pastor Avornyo, therefore, called on all stakeholders to support efforts to raise royal children within the church to imbibe godly values and principles before assuming leadership responsibilities in traditional settings and in the nation at large.
Representing the Krachi Traditional Council, Nana Bakrife Eyerealeso II, Adontenhemaa of the Krachi Traditional Area, expressed appreciation to The Church of Pentecost for the recognition it continues to accord the chieftaincy institution. She described the initiative as a step in the right direction, noting that mentoring young royals with godly values would help raise chiefs and queen mothers of integrity.
She further advised the children to remain humble under the guidance of their teachers for proper grooming and pledged her support, on behalf of the chiefs and elders of the Krachi Traditional Council, towards the successful implementation of the initiative.
The event featured various cultural performances by the children, including poetry recitals and drama presentations, which added colour to the ceremony.
Among those present at the event were the Kete-Krachi Area Head, Pastor Charles Fosu, and his wife, Mrs. Gifty Fosu; Mrs. Jemima Avornyo, wife of the Children’s Ministry Director; Nana Akwasi Donkor Nkwetri, Chief of Kpatsu and Gyasehene of the Amankrado; Nana Bagyilenteki Akenten II, Kadentwi Queen Mother; as well as ministers and their wives in the Area, among others.
