Apostle Martin Seth Appiah, Madina Area Head, has reaffirmed that a genuine encounter with Jesus Christ remains the most powerful force for transforming lives, producing believers who are godly, impactful, and resourceful in advancing God’s work and contributing meaningfully to society.
He made this assertion on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at the Sychar Prayer Grounds, where he climaxed the Madina District Christmas Convention themed, “Jesus Christ, the Gift of God that Changes Life,” with references from John 4:10 and John 3:16. He explained that when a person encounters God, the Holy Spirit, the divine power of Jesus Christ, takes absolute control, working within the individual to bring about holistic transformation that reflects in character, purpose, and productivity.
Expounding on the theme with scriptural emphasis from 2 Peter 1:2–3 and James 1:16–18, Apostle Appiah outlined two divine opportunities God offers humanity through Jesus Christ. First, he noted that God provides everything required for godliness, granting believers divine strength, wisdom, and knowledge to live lives devoted to righteousness and reverence for Him. He stressed that reflecting the character of Christ and training oneself to please God must remain central to Christian living.
Secondly, he stated that God supplies all that pertains to life, ensuring believers lack nothing and are not rendered vulnerable or impoverished in ministry or society. Through God’s divine power, he said, Christians are enabled to excel and reflect Christ’s nature in every sphere of life.
Illustrating his message, Apostle Appiah cited the transformation of Mary Magdalene, referencing Mark 16:9 and Luke 8:2. He noted that after her encounter with Jesus Christ, she experienced dramatic spiritual, physical, and material change, becoming a devoted disciple who supported Christ’s ministry. He emphasised that whenever God steps into a person’s life, destructive spiritual forces are dispelled, and the individual is transformed to contribute meaningfully to God’s kingdom, family, and society.
The Apostle dismissed misconceptions that associate Christianity with poverty and lack, urging believers to value Jesus Christ as God’s complete gift, in whom lies abundance for life, security, satisfaction, and eternal salvation. Drawing lessons from the lives of Jabez and Abraham, he affirmed that God remains capable of transforming destinies through genuine encounters with His Son.
He concluded by calling on Christians and all people to cultivate a strong desire to encounter Jesus Christ, stressing that true transformation and committed service to God, the Church, and society flow from such divine encounters.
