The Community 25 Estate District of The Church of Pentecost, under the Ashaiman Area, has recorded a significant evangelistic impact following the successful organisation of its maiden Home and Urban Missions (HUM) Christmas Convention.
The one-day convention, held on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Fine Boy Pub in Zion City, was organised on the theme “Emmanuel, God with Us” (Matthew 1:23; Isaiah 7:14). The event brought together residents from various ghettos in and around Zion City, providing a platform for the proclamation of the gospel in a context-sensitive and compassionate manner.
By the grace of God, the outreach yielded 20 souls won for Christ, out of which 11 converts were baptised by immersion, marking a major spiritual milestone for the young District. The souls won testified to the power of the gospel to transform lives, regardless of social background or circumstance.
The convention was hosted by the Community 25 Estate District Minister, Pastor Ernest Perbi-Asare, whose leadership and commitment to urban evangelism were evident throughout the programme. The event was climaxed with a special end-of-year fellowship dubbed the “God-With-Us Afehyia Pa Get-Together Party,” which catered for over 80 people. Participants were served banku with okro stew and pepper sauce, jollof rice with chicken, assorted local beverages, and soft drinks, reflecting the Church’s holistic approach to ministry – meeting both spiritual and physical needs.
Speaking in an interview, the HUM District Coordinator, Elder Seth Ayitey, commended Pastor Perbi-Asare and his wife for their unwavering passion for reaching out to the neglected and marginalised in society. He encouraged church leaders at all levels to demonstrate similar commitment in extending the love of Christ to those on the fringes of society, emphasising that such efforts are key to transforming lives through the power of the gospel.
The convention attracted a cross-section of leadership from the District, including the District Secretary, Elder Christian Sam; the District Finance Chairman, Elder Joseph Nketsiah; the District Minister’s Wife, Mrs. Sarah Perbi-Asare; the District Women’s Leader, Deaconess Gladys Gblekpor; as well as District Executive Members, Presiding Elders, District and Local ministries leaders, and many other officers and members.
The successful organisation and impact of the maiden HUM Christmas Convention underscore the District’s commitment to evangelism and community transformation, in line with the Church’s mandate to take the gospel to every segment of society.
