The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Eastwing Hospital, Elder Richard Dugan, has affirmed that true excellence is attained when one’s vision is so profound that it calls for divine intervention.
Speaking to the Management and Staff of The Church of Pentecost Headquarters during their annual retreat at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh, on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, Elder Dugan, who is also the Ashaiman Area Deacon of the church, urged participants to exemplify the qualities of committed, Spirit-filled Christians with the character to positively influence their workplaces and communities.
He posed the thought-provoking question: “Are you working to impress or to impact?” and underscored the significance of ministry excellence—honouring God, upholding high standards, and giving their utmost in every endeavour.
Highlighting the Church’s core values, Elder Dugan stressed that excellence is a continuous journey rather than a final destination. He reminded participants that The Church of Pentecost is structured to reflect Christ’s values and nature, with Christ Himself as the ultimate standard of excellence.
Elder Dugan outlined key pillars for achieving excellence: vision, character, competence, and organisational systems. He encouraged participants to cultivate passion, purpose, and vision, while emphasising practical aspects such as time consciousness, preparedness, and diligence.
He warned against traits of mediocrity, including lack of vision and poor planning, and called for the establishment of a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability. Furthermore, he advocated for coaching, mentoring, and training teams to achieve greatness.
By embracing excellence, Elder Dugan concluded, participants can make a lasting impact on their communities and reflect the nature of Christ.
