The Pentecost Men’s Ministry (PEMEM) of the Ho Area, in collaboration with the Pentecost Students and Associates (PENSA) Lower Volta Sector, has undertaken a major free medical outreach at the Ho Central Market as part of its Diakonia mandate under the “Possessing the Nations” agenda. The initiative forms part of PEMEM’s Four-Year Strategic Vision, which focuses on promoting the holistic development of men and the wider community through spiritual, physical, psychological, social, and economic interventions.
Held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, the exercise was organised under the leadership of the Ho Area PEMEM Leader, Pastor Peter Adams, and the PENSA Travelling Secretary for the Lower Volta Sector, Pastor Vitalis Banaangmwine Dogoli. The event brought together a combined team of 35 Gospel Heralds and 28 health professionals drawn from key medical facilities in the municipality, including the Ho Teaching Hospital, Ho Municipal Hospital, the University of Health and Allied Sciences, and the Ho Nursing Training College.
The outreach provided essential health services to residents, market traders, and vulnerable groups who often lack access to routine medical care. A total of 390 individuals benefited from services such as general medical consultations, blood pressure and blood sugar monitoring, malaria, typhoid and hepatitis testing, eye screening, and mental health assessments. The exercise also featured a free National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) registration and renewal desk, which supported 143 people to either acquire or reactivate their membership.
Central to the outreach was the proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Gospel Heralds moved through the market, lorry stations, shops, ghettos, and even engaged travellers in vehicles, sharing the message of salvation and offering prayer and counselling. The evangelistic efforts yielded remarkable results, with 67 souls won, 6 new members recorded, 4 backsliders restored, and 40 individuals rededicating their lives to Christ. Five of the new converts were baptised in water. Many beneficiaries also received counselling to support their spiritual and psychological wellbeing.
Speaking to the media on behalf of the Ho Area Head, Apostle Emmanuel Agyei Kwafo, Pastor Peter Adams emphasised that the initiative reflects the Church of Pentecost’s commitment to holistic ministry. He explained that Diakonia goes beyond spiritual nourishment to include compassionate acts that meet the physical and social needs of communities. Beneficiaries and community leaders commended the Church for the timely intervention, describing the outreach as both impactful and transformative.
