Apostle Dr Eric Nyamekye, Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, conducted a visit on November 20, 2025, to social projects funded by Pentecost Social Services (PENTSOS) and the National Women’s Ministry in the Essam-Debiso Area, demonstrating the Church’s commitment to community development.
The visit began at the Pentecost Clinic in Yawmatwa, under the leadership of Professor Dr Godwin Ayitey. The clinic operates fully with a dedicated staff managing daily activities.
However, Dr Ayitey highlighted an urgent need for a Theatre and Operating Room to handle major cases locally, as current referrals to nearby hospitals sometimes jeopardize patient safety. Apostle Dr Nyamekye acknowledged the request and assured that the Church would consider this critical need.
Following the clinic, the Chairman toured two Skills Training Centres located in Yawmatwa and Essam. At the Yawmatwa centre, 27 students are undergoing a two-year dressmaking course.
Mrs Bernice Boateng, Head of the Centre, explained that upon completion, trainees receive stipends to help start their own businesses, empowering them with skills and economic opportunities.
The team also visited a fully funded hairdressing salon managed by Mary Osei Tutu. Similarly, the hairdressing training lasts two years, and each trainee will receive a hair dryer as part of their starter kit, enhancing their readiness for employment or entrepreneurship.
These impactful projects were established under the visionary leadership of Pastor Frank Awuah Fordjour, who, upon his appointment to oversee the Essam-Debiso Area, successfully introduced and integrated PENTSOS initiatives to uplift the community.
This visit underscores The Church of Pentecost’s ongoing dedication to social welfare and sustainable development through strategic investment in health and vocational training.
