The Community 2 Revival Assembly in the Greenwich Meridian District of The Church of Pentecost on Sunday, November 16, 2025, hosted Pastor Michael Laryea Jnr, Coordinator for the Ministry to Celebrities, as part of the Apostolisation sessions following the Heads’ Meeting at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC).
Delivering a sermon on the 2026 theme, “The Church Unleashed to Transform Society Through the Gospel and the Power of the Holy Spirit,”Pastor Laryea Jnr situated the message within the larger Possessing the Nations agenda, noting that the Church exists not only as a spiritual body but as a divine instrument for societal transformation. He explained that God has mandated His Church to influence every sphere of life through the Gospel and the enabling power of the Holy Spirit.
Acknowledging challenges such as rising secularism, moral decline, corruption, and increasing hostility toward Christian values, he observed that many believers today struggle to carry out their transformational mandate. Despite these realities, he assured the congregation that God is raising a generation equipped to confront societal darkness with truth, love, and spiritual authority. He referenced Nineveh’s repentance under Jonah, Daniel’s influence in Babylon, and the sweeping transformation that occurred in Ephesus when the Gospel confronted entrenched idolatry, emphasising that meaningful societal change is possible even in adverse environments.
Pastor Laryea Jnr stressed that the Gospel of the Kingdom goes beyond personal salvation to encompass justice, integrity, compassion, and the dignity of labour. Drawing from the Puritan heritage, he reminded believers that every Christian is a minister within their sphere of influence – whether in education, governance, business, media, or family life – and that secular work becomes sacred when done unto the Lord. He concluded by emphasising that true and lasting transformation is only achievable through the power of the Holy Spirit. The Church, he noted, must therefore operate with boldness, spiritual discernment, and the authority Christ has bestowed, declaring that now is the time for the Church to be fully unleashed into society.
Adding his remarks, the District Minister, Pastor Dr Suleman De-Graft Issaka, highlighted the importance of the Ministry to Celebrities, explaining that a celebrity is simply an individual with influence or a significant following. If the enemy values such people, he said, then God certainly has even greater use for them in advancing His Kingdom. He cited Peter, Zacchaeus, and Paul as biblical examples of well-known and influential individuals whose lives were transformed by Jesus and later used mightily for Kingdom work. These accounts, he noted, show that ministering to influencers is both biblical and essential. He encouraged the congregation to uphold Pastor Laryea Jnr in prayer and support as he undertakes this crucial ministry assignment.
