Accra will host the maiden West Africa Green Economy (WAGE) Roundtable & Awards event on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, bringing together policymakers, business leaders, financiers, and environmental advocates to chart a path toward a more sustainable West Africa.

The landmark event, jointly organised by Pent Media Centre (Ghana) and African Consolidated Analytical Limited (Nigeria), aims to foster strategic dialogue and policy innovation to drive green growth across the subregion. The event is themed “Advancing Sustainable Development through Green Growth in West Africa.”

Stakeholders from across the continent are expected to explore practical solutions that align environmental sustainability with economic transformation, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the African Union’s Agenda 2063.

The day-long event will culminate in the West Africa Green Economy (WAGE) Awards—a ceremony to honour individuals, institutions, and projects making outstanding contributions to the region’s green economy.

With over 25 award categories, the WAGE Awards will highlight excellence in sectors including renewable energy, climate resilience, eco-innovation, sustainable agriculture, and waste management. Some key categories include: Renewable Energy Leader Award, Sustainable Business Leader of the Year, Circular Economy Champion Award, Green Technology & Innovation Company of the Year and Climate Action Leadership Award

Nominees will be assessed by an independent panel of industry experts based on innovation, measurable impact, community engagement, and adherence to global sustainability benchmarks.

Organisers say WAGE 2025 comes at a pivotal moment for West Africa, as countries grapple with the dual challenge of economic development and environmental sustainability.
