Solomon Nii Ofoli Tackie, a creative designer at Pent Media Centre, has been recognised as the 2024 Best Graphic Designer at the recently held Ghana Youth Excellence Awards (GYEA), organised by Apex Africa Concept.

The prestigious event, held at the National Theatre on Friday, May 23, 2025, was centred around the theme, “Unlocking the Potentials of Young Leaders.”

The Ghana Youth Excellence Awards (GYEA) is an annual initiative that celebrates and acknowledges the remarkable contributions of young Ghanaians to national development. The awards aim to inspire excellence, empower youth, and foster positive change across various sectors.

Over the years, GYEA has highlighted and honoured outstanding achievements in diverse fields, including politics, entertainment, sports, agriculture, health, and entrepreneurship. Past recipients have included notable personalities such as Hon. Samuel Awuku (Member of Parliament for Akropong Constituency), Henry Nana Boakye (National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party), and Awal Alhassan, popularly known as “Possigee” (Sound Engineer).

This year, a total of 49 distinguished individuals from across the country were recognised for their dedication, service, and impact in their respective fields. Among them was Elder Solomon Nii Ofoli Tackie, who received the “Best Graphic Designer of the Year” award.

In his acceptance speech, Solomon Tackie, an Elder of The Church of Pentecost, dedicated the award to all aspiring designers, emphasising the power of creativity:

“This award is a testament to the limitless potential of creativity when nurtured with passion and perseverance. I dedicate it to every aspiring Christian designer—keep pushing boundaries and telling powerful stories through your designs,” he said.

He further underscored the significance of this recognition in relation to the “Possessing the Nations” agenda of The Church of Pentecost, which encourages believers to influence society with godly values and excellence.

“Through design, we too can possess the nations by shaping culture and communicating truth in impactful ways,” he added.

The event drew a distinguished audience, including clergy, traditional leaders, government officials, and advocates for community development.

This award adds to the growing list of recognitions earned by personnel of Pent Media Centre, the media arm of The Church of Pentecost, this year. Earlier in the year, Etornam Agbemor, a broadcast journalist and presenter at the Centre, emerged as the first runner-up in the English Online Category of the 10th Pan-African Re/Insurance Journalism Awards held in Cape Town, South Africa.
