The church building of the Kwesiedum Assembly, under the Ekutuase District in the Elmina Area of The Church of Pentecost, has been dedicated to the glory of God.

The colourful dedication service took place on Thursday, April 24, 2025 and was officiated by the Elmina Area Head, Apostle Lawrence Oduro-Nyarko.

In his remarks, Apostle Lawrence Oduro-Nyarko expressed deep gratitude to the Almighty God for bringing the project to a successful and glorious completion. “This is indeed the doing of the Lord, and it is marvellous in our eyes,” he declared.

He also extended his appreciation to the Chairman and the Executive Council for their consistent release of grants to local assemblies, which has significantly reduced the number of assemblies worshipping under trees.

Delivering the sermon on the theme “Unleashed to Live Worthy of Your Calling as the Temple of God” (Matthew 21:12–14; 1 Corinthians 3:16), the Abrem Agona District Minister, Pastor Maxwell Nti, noted that in times past, God showed interest in designated places of worship and fellowship.

He referenced God’s instruction to Moses to build a tent for worship during the Israelites’ journey to the Promised Land and how God provided all necessary resources for its construction.

He further explained that the temple served as a tangible symbol of God’s presence—a place for teaching, training, fellowship, prayer, and sanctification where believers encountered Christ. However, Pastor Nti lamented that this sacred space was later turned into a marketplace, prompting Jesus to drive the people out.

He therefore cautioned believers against turning the house of God into a business hub, emphasising that it must remain a house of prayer.

Highlighting New Testament teachings, he stated that the believer’s body is now the temple of God (1 Corinthians 6:20). As such, Christians are expected to live lives marked by prayer, fasting, and godliness. “Our lives must draw people to God, not drive them away,” he stressed.

He urged believers, as spiritual temples, to let the word of God dwell richly in them and to reflect God’s glory in their communities.

Concluding his message, Pastor Nti emphasised that God expects believers to be carriers of His presence and glory, living as holy temples worthy of their divine calling.

Sharing the church’s history, the Presiding Elder of the Assembly, Elder Stephen Ennin, revealed that the Kwesiedum Assembly was established in 1996 with 16 members following a rally organised in the community by Pastor D.D. Mireku, then District Minister of Abrem Agona. The church initially met in a classroom until 2013, when land was acquired and a temporary structure erected. In 2017, a grant of GHS 40,000.00 was received from the Headquarters to begin construction of a permanent church building during the tenure of Pastor Gideon Atigya, the first District Minister of Ekutuase. His successor, Pastor Samuel Kojo Marfo, continued the project and, with support from the Elmina Area leadership and members, brought it to completion.

Pastor Samuel Kojo Marfo expressed heartfelt appreciation to Apostle Samuel Yaw Antwi (Rtd.), former Cape Coast Area Head, and Apostle Lawrence Oduro-Nyarko, current Elmina Area Head, for their invaluable contributions. He also thanked the members and artisans whose efforts made the project a reality.

To the glory of God, the linguist of the community, Okyeame Akatua, publicly declared Jesus Christ as his Lord and personal Saviour during the service.

Also present at the event were Pastors Mordecai Jaadaan Jagbiar, Benjamin Aliniah, Prince Augustine Ababio, Stephen Effah, Mrs. Cecilia Nti, Mrs. Grace Marfo, and Mrs. Christiana Effah, as well as officers and members of the Kwesiedum Assembly. Representing the chief of the town was Abusuapanyin Bright Obeng.
