The Lamashegu District Women’s Ministry of The Church of Pentecost demonstrated Christ-like compassion on Saturday, May 10, 2025, by donating essential items worth GHS 4,300 to inmates of the Tamale Central Prison.
The gesture, which is part of the Church’s “Possessing the Nations” agenda, combined material support with a strong spiritual message, reaffirming the Church’s mission to reach out to the marginalised and forgotten in society.
The delegation was led by Mrs. Agartha Tawiah, wife of the Tamale Area Head, who presented the items on behalf of the district. She was accompanied by Pastor Frank Amoako Henneh (District Minister for Lamashegu) and his wife, Mrs. Sarah Amoako Henneh; Pastor DSP Elvis Kofi Danquah (Chaplain of Tamale Central Prison) and his wife, Mrs. Henrietta Danquah; Mrs. Rachel Arko Boafo, wife of the Tamale Sector Traveling Secretary; and leaders of the District Women’s Ministry.
In her remarks, Mrs. Tawiah urged prison authorities to ensure the items were used for the benefit of the inmates.
She emphasised that the donation was more than a charitable act — it was an expression of Christ’s love for all people, including those often overlooked by society.
Pastor Amoako Henneh shared a moving exhortation based on John 3:16, reminding inmates that the greatest gift ever given is Jesus Christ.
“These items may meet your needs today,” he said, “but receiving Christ will meet your deepest need for a lifetime and beyond.”
Pastor DSP Danquah, speaking on behalf of the prison administration and inmates, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the church’s generosity.
He noted that such acts of kindness uplift not only the physical conditions of the inmates but also their emotional and spiritual well-being.
The event concluded with a time of prayer and encouragement, leaving a lasting impact on both the inmates and the delegation.
