The Essam-Debiso Area of The Church of Pentecost, led by Pastor Frank Awuah Fordjour, demonstrated a show of love on April 17, 2025, by distributing 350 pairs of shoes valued at GH¢140,000.00 to pupils of Agyemu Suleman B/A School in the Akatiso District in the Western North Region of Ghana.
This kind gesture, part of the Children’s Ministry’s ‘Adopt a School’ project in partnership with the Schools Outreach Ministry of the church, aims to meet the felt needs of schools while finding ways to reach them with the gospel.
Presenting the items, the Area Head noted that the donation is part of an ongoing project aimed at distributing over 1,500 pairs of shoes to children in less endowed communities in the area. This, he said, is part of championing the church’s ‘Possessing the Nations’ agenda, which aims not only at preaching the gospel but also at transforming society through various social interventions.
Receiving the items on behalf of the school, the visibly elated chief of the Agyemu community, Nana Isaac Frimpong, expressed his appreciation to Pastor Awuah Fordjour and the church for their thoughtfulness in meeting some of the felt needs of the children. He encouraged more such donations.
Also present at the brief ceremony were Nana Afua Asumani (Queen Mother of Agyemu), Mr Raymond Frimpong (Circuit Supervisor of the Ghana Education Service), Hon. Samuel Okyere (Headteacher and Assemblyman of the community), and Pastor Samuel Gbinuri and his wife (District Minister of Akatiso District).
