As part of activities marking the 2025 Easter Convention, the Gomoa Kyiren District in the Winneba Area of The Church of Pentecost organised a general health screening exercise on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at the Gomoa Sampa Durbar Grounds.

The screening focused on various common health conditions prevalent in local communities, including blood sugar levels (Diabetes), H. Pylori, prostate screening, breast examination, fibroid detection, and more.

In addition to the screenings, participants received professional counseling and consultations, with initial diagnoses provided to help address any medical conditions identified. A total of 200 people benefited from the exercise.

The health screening team was led by Deaconess Dr. Mercy Abrafi and included Deaconess Leticia (an oncology nurse and gospel artiste), Mavis Aidoo, Millicent Cobbah, Deacon Samuel Ayepah, Deacon Alfred Ghansa, and Esther Cobbina.

The District Medical Team, made up of Mrs. Lydia Adu (Wife of the District Minister), Deborah Ninson, and Ebenezer Mensah, also played a vital role in the success of the program.

The entire exercise was fully sponsored by Elder Joseph Kobii Cobbina and Deaconess Janet Opoku, affectionately known as Mr. and Mrs. Rickiebee. In a further act of kindness, the couple donated a brand-new wheelchair to an elderly woman to enhance her mobility and enable her active participation in social and church activities.

Speaking on the motivation behind their support, Elder Kobii Cobbina emphasised the importance of giving back to society and demonstrating God’s love to the vulnerable and needy.

The kind gesture was deeply appreciated by the District Minister, the Presbytery, and all participants.

Overseer Daniel K. Adu, the District Minister, expressed his profound gratitude to the couple for their generosity in fully funding the medical outreach. He also encouraged members and attendees to prioritise their health by undertaking regular check-ups as part of their Christian stewardship.

The 2025 Easter Convention of the Gomoa Kyiren District was held under the theme: “He Himself Bore Our Sins in His Body” (1 Peter 2:24).
