The Adom Estate Assembly church auditorium in the Akweley District of the Downtown-Ofaakor Area of The Church of Pentecost has been dedicated.

The dedication service, held on March 30, 2025, was officiated by the Downtown-Ofaakor Area Head, Apostle William Kojo Edzorhoho.

The Adom Estate Assembly was established in July 2004, following a three-day evangelistic rally at the Adom Estate bus stop. It was part of the then Kasoa North District under the then Accra West Area of the church, with Apostle S. K. Ansong (now retired) as the Area Head and Pastor Opoku Kissi (now retired) as the District Minister. The first Presiding Elder of the assembly was Elder Silas Nuel.

The church began with just 14 members, meeting at the porch of Deaconess Akwettey. Over time, its numbers grew significantly, making it necessary to get a dedicated worship space.

Several ministers played instrumental roles in the growth of the assembly, including Prophet Robert K. Dentu, Apostle E. C. Asante (now retied), Apostle Samuel Antwi (now retired), Apostle Dr Benjamin Ali (now retired), Pastor Kofi Anyane Asare (now retired), Pastor Emmanuel Kwabena Ansah, and Pastor Emmanuel Asane Bimpong (now retired), with Pastor Alexander Ansong, the current minister, completing it.

Delivering the sermon at the dedication service on the theme, ‘Zeal for Your House Has Consumed Me’ (John 2:13-17), Pastor Daniel Onyame-Tease reflected on Jesus’ fervent act of driving traders out of the temple. He noted that the sight of Jesus scattering the coins of money changers and overturning their tables was both unprecedented and shocking to the Jewish leaders and the public.

He explained that Jesus’ actions stemmed from His consuming zeal for His Father’s house. He defined zeal as dedication and enthusiasm toward a cause, highlighting its biblical significance as a burning desire to honour God, fulfill His will, and bring glory to Him. He likened zeal to ‘holy jealousy,’ ‘godly jealousy,’ or ‘holy anger’ in pursuit of God’s purpose.

Citing examples of King Cyrus, Zerubbabel, Nehemiah, and Ezra, Pastor Onyame-Tease indicated how their zeal for the Lord enabled them to advance God’s mission in their time. He encouraged the congregation to pray for an authentic zeal that would drive the ‘Unleashing Agenda’ of the church forward.

In his closing remarks, the Area Head, Apostle Edzorhoho, emphasized the necessity of zeal, especially in a time when many have become spiritually lukewarm and followers of the crowd. He expressed his satisfaction with the prudent use of funds and commended the leadership and members of the Adom Estate Assembly for their commitment to the project.

The service was attended by ministers and their spouses from the Area, including Apostle Samuel Antwi (retd) and his wife.
