The General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi, has urged staff of Jospong Group of Companies to acknowledge the superiority of Jesus Christ in their lives.
‘Jesus is in a class of His own; He does not have a classmate and He is unique. No angel or prophet of God can be compared to Jesus,’ he said.
Apostle Obuobi was speaking at the Jospong Group of Companies Annual Thanksgiving Service held at the forecourt of Zoomlion Ghana Limited’s Head Office in Accra under the theme, ‘Jesus Christ is More Than Enough.’
Speaking on the topic: ‘The Superiority of Jesus Christ,’ the General Secretary emphasised the need to see Jesus Christ as God.
Apostle Obuobi used several Bible quotations including Hebrews I :6-8; Revelations 19:1-10, Colossians 1:16-16, Psalm 2:7 and Luke 9:35 among others, to support the superiority of Jesus Christ to all humans and even angels.
He stated that the dimensions to Jesus’ superiority is seen in the relationship between Him and the Father as against the relationship between Angels and the Father.
‘Jesus stands beside the Father as a son and not below as a creature. So today, I came here to exhort Jesus and to lift Jesus up. I am telling everyone that this Jesus we are talking about is not an ordinary person and indeed He is more than enough,’ he stated.
The revered man of God read some chapters in the book of Hebrews to back his explanations of Jesus Christ’s relationship with God and His superiority over angels.
“The earlier you recognise that Jesus is God, the better. Jesus is God that is why aside God, He is the only one who receives worship,’ he emphasised.
He reaffirmed that God confirmed His close relationship with Jesus Christ as His only begotten son in both the Old and the New Testaments.
Explaining Jesus’ superiority as a deity, Apostle Obuobi read from the book of Luke and Psalms to buttress his point.
According to him, God gave a prophecy about the superiority of Jesus in the Old Testament even before Jesus Christ was born as well as during the transfiguration on the mountain.
Apostle Obuobi ended his sermon with explanations about Jesus’ superiority as a creator; reading scriptures that state both heaven and earth were created through Jesus Christ.
The Executive Chairman of Jospong Group, Elder Dr Joseph Siaw Agyepong, and his wife, Adelaide, together with other seasoned men of God, managers, staff and attendees of the event, applauded the General Secretary for the powerful message.
The Jospong Group Thanksgiving Service is an annual event held at the latter part of every year to thank God for a fruitful working year.
This year’s event, themed ‘Jesus Christ Is More Than Enough’ saw popular gospel musician Uncle Ato ministering as well as the Zoom Choir who treated attendees to soothing gospel songs.
