Proclaim Jesus Christ, The Mighty To Save – Apostle Gyesi-Addo (Rtd.)

The immediate past International Missions Director (IMD) of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Emmanuel Gyesi-Addo (rtd.), has fervently tasked all Christians to waste no time in telling the world about Jesus Christ, the mighty to save.

Speaking on the topic “Unleashed to Save the Never-Dying Soul,” one of the thematic topics for the 2025 theme, Apostle Gyesi-Addo emphasized that the ‘Possessing the Nations’ agenda focuses on the conversion of societies, but that is not possible without the conversion of individuals (souls).

“Converting people, from our perspective, begins with sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with them. Saving the never-dying soul is in line with our transformation agenda,” he observed.

He pointed out that the name of Jesus Christ is the only name that saves, and this must be urgently proclaimed to a perishing world.

Reading from Mark 8:36-37, Apostle Gyesi-Addo reminded the gathering that power, fame, wealth, and academic accolades do not last, but the soul never dies.

He therefore charged the church to focus its attention on souls.

“Everything perishes, but the soul—so why exchange the soul for perishable things?” he asked rhetorically.

The veteran missionary noted that whether one likes Jesus or dislikes Him, one thing no one can do is ignore Him, because everyone will one day give an account to Him.

“Accepting Jesus Christ today makes Him your solicitor and intercessor, but if rejected, you will appear before Him as your Judge,” he explained.

He emphasized that the soul can only live its true life and achieve its intended purpose if it remains connected to its original source. Unfortunately, humanity lost that connection at the fall.

“The broken link between the soul and its source is restored only in Christ Jesus,” he proclaimed.

He cautioned that local assemblies should not become cults that minister only to themselves and attend to their own needs, forsaking the task of soul-winning.

“The church is called to win souls; that is why in The Church of Pentecost we say ‘souls won’ and not ‘people won,’” Apostle Gyesi-Addo reiterated.

The former IMD stressed that soul-winning should be the task of individuals, just as it is the task of the general church.

“The call to the church to win souls is also a call to the individual to be a soul winner,” he emphasized.

Drawing lessons from Acts 10, Apostle Gyesi-Addo noted that preaching the gospel is a privilege angels are denied. He therefore urged all Christians to go out and work earnestly at saving the never-dying soul.
