Live For Eternal Rewards – Apostle Oboubi Charges Christians

Spread the love

Apostle Samuel Gyau Oboubi, the General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, has charged Christians, particularly members of the church to live their lives for eternal rewards.

He gave this charge while delivering a sermon on Wednesday, November 12, 2024, at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC) in Gomoah Fetteh during the November Heads and Wives meeting.

Delivering an exposition on one of the thematic areas under the 2025 theme, “Living for Eternal Rewards,” Apostle Oboubi explained that rewards are blessings or benefits one receives in recognition of good or excellent service, effort, or achievement.

He revealed that, according to scripture, God rewards everything people do, no matter how insignificant they may perceive it.

According to him, there are two kinds of rewards from scripture: one received on earth and another received in the afterlife.

The General Secretary indicated that while earthly rewards are material and can be lost or taken away, eternal rewards are heavenly rewards believers will receive from God due to their faithful work on earth.

He mentioned the promises concerning rewards, such as endurance through pressures in ministry, generous giving, bearing insults, being excluded for the name of Christ, and rendering excellent service to employers.

On rewards, he mentioned the crown of life, the crown of righteousness, the crown of glory, and the crown of rejoicing as the rewards received by those who live for eternal rewards.

To live for eternal rewards, one must obey God’s will, even when it feels risky or uncomfortable, as exemplified by Apostle Paul in Acts 16:21.

This involves avoiding sin and maintaining a pure conscience before God and men, as well as living a life of integrity where actions align with words.

Other characteristics of a person who lives for eternal rewards include faithfulness to God, one’s holy calling, and supporting institutions.

Living selflessly and sacrificially, putting God’s plans above personal desires, is also essential.

Ultimately, a life of service to others, reflecting God’s love and will, is key to honouring Him and seeking eternal rewards.
