The Women’s Ministry of the New Aplaku District in the Weija Area of The Church of Pentecost has brought smiles, hope, and relief to vulnerable children through a major humanitarian outreach to two child care institutions in the Central Region.
As part of efforts to demonstrate the love of Christ through practical service, the ministry visited the Village of Hope Orphanage at Gomoa Fetteh on Saturday, April 26, 2026, and later extended similar support to 21st Century Mum Care at Senya Breku on Friday, May 1, 2026.
The outreach formed part of the church’s Vision 2028 agenda and reflected the biblical call in James 1:27 to care for orphans and the needy.
The delegation was led by the New Aplaku District Pastor, Pastor Isaac Deku, and his wife, Mrs. Rosina Deku, together with the District Women’s Ministry Leader, Deaconess Felicia Asiamah, members of the ministry’s executive team, and other church leaders.
During the visits, the ministry shared warm meals with the children and donated assorted items worth about GHS 30,000.00. The donations included clothing, footwear, food items, towels, diapers, sanitary products, earrings, shoe polish, and sachet water to support the upkeep and wellbeing of the children.
In a demonstration of corporate support and partnership, Nestlé Ghana also contributed beverages during the visit to Village of Hope Orphanage to provide breakfast for the children and staff.
Speaking to the children, Pastor Isaac Deku encouraged them to remain respectful and obedient to their caregivers, stressing that discipline and obedience are keys to a brighter future. Quoting Ephesians 6:1–2, he reminded them of God’s promise of blessings to obedient children.
Management of both institutions expressed profound gratitude to the Women’s Ministry for the generous gesture and the love shown to the children.
Mr. Rexford Asuming of Village of Hope Orphanage described the donation as timely and impactful, while Mrs. Felicia Quaye of 21st Century Mum Care commended the church for remembering vulnerable children and bringing joy to their lives.
Beyond the donations, the outreach created moments of encouragement and belonging for the children, many of whom were visibly excited by the visit. The initiative has been hailed as a strong demonstration of faith in action and the church’s commitment to transforming lives through compassion-driven ministry.
