Apple has officially discontinued these three iPhones

Apple has introduced four new iPhones at its “It’s Glowtime” event: the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.

As is common with new releases, Apple is phasing out several older models to make room for the new devices.

Starting this week, the iPhone 16 series will join Apple’s lineup, which already includes the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, and the third-generation iPhone SE.

However, Apple is discontinuing the iPhone 13, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

These models will still be available through third-party retailers and may be offered at discounted prices, but Apple will no longer sell them directly.

Even though these older models are being retired, they will continue to receive software updates. For example, Apple’s upcoming iOS 18 will be available for iPhones from 2018 onwards, including the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR.

It’s important to note that Apple’s new AI features, known as Apple Intelligence, will only work with the iPhone 16 series and the iPhone 15 Pro models.

Older iPhones will not have access to these features. Additionally, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will come with larger screens.

The new iPhone 16 series will be available for pre-order on Friday, September 13, and will start shipping on September 20.

The new models feature updated processors, a new Camera Control feature, new colour options, and improved camera technology.

Alongside the new iPhones, Apple also announced the Apple Watch Series 10 and AirPods 4, along with updates to the Apple Ultra 2, AirPods Max, and AirPods Pro 2.
