The 2022 All-Inclusive Seminar for ministers and their wives who have up to 10 years (2023-2032) to retire from the full-time ministry of The Church of Pentecost is currently underway at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh, near Kasoa in the Central Region.

About 500 ministers and their wives are attending the seminar which is on the theme, “Possessing the Nations: Serving the Saints,” – Hebrews 6:10.

Officially opening the seminar on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, the Chairman of the Pension Board of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle John Appiah Aidoo, thanked God for sustaining the lives of the ministers throughout ministry.

Apostle Aidoo thanked the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost and the Executive Council for their support to the Pension Board.

He noted that the last time the seminar was held was in 2016 and the feedback from participants was very positive as most of them requested that more such seminars should be organised at shorter intervals.

According to him, the theme for this year’s seminar has been carefully selected to reflect the five-year vision of the church which has the overarching theme of Possessing the Nations.

“As key leaders of the church, our prime focus should be to serve the saints, thereby equipping them to be agents of transformation in their spheres of life. We are called to serve just as our Master, Jesus, came to serve,” he added.

Some of the topics to be treated during the three-day seminar include Pension Schemes in Ghana, SSNIT Pension Scheme, Financial Planning Towards Retirement, Financial Procedures in The Church of Pentecost, The Church of Pentecost Pensions and Entitlement, Ageing and Related Health Issues of Concern, Mental Health Preparation for Retirement, Psychological Well-Being of the Minister.

Others are Marriage and Family Life During Retirement, Will-Process and Procedure and Interstate Succession Law, Sharing of Life Experience in Retirement/How to Thrive in Retirement, Preparing Towards a Fruitful Retirement: Real Estate Development and Asset Acquisition Management.

Statistically, Apostle Aidoo noted that as of the end of December 2021, the total number of retirees and their wives in the church was 217 whilst the number of widows stood at 115. He stated 42 ministers and their wives proceeded on retirement this year, and accordingly joined the scheme.

He also added that the Ministers Welfare Fund also cares for 44 children of ministers who qualified under the Ministers’ Children Education Scheme.

Speakers for the event include Apostle Eric Nyamekye (Chairman, CoP), Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi (General Secretary, CoP), Apostle Emmanuel Agyemang Bekoe (IMD, CoP), Apostle John Appiah Aidoo (Chairman, Pension Board), Apostle Lawrence Otu-Nyarko (Finance & Administration Director, CoP), Apostle Philip Osei Korsah (Director, Counselling Ministry, CoP), Apostle Dr. Ing.
