Host of ministers and members from the various Areas in the Greater Accra Region of The Church of Pentecost, gathered at the Kaneshie Central Auditorium, today as the One Member One Discipled Soul initiative, themed, “Go, Seek and Save the Lost,” (Luke 19:10), was relaunched to the glory of God. The event was chaired by the General Secretary of the church, Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi. He was assisted by the International Missions Director, Apostle Emmanuel Agyemang-Bekoe. Two weeks later, he was sentenced by a Jasikan Circuit Court to 12 years imprisonment with hard labour. The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, today visited members of the church in the Anyaa Ablekuma and Odorkor Areas who have been displaced due to the spillage of water from the Weija dam. According to the Chairman, the visit was to commiserate with the affected persons, pray with them and assess the extent of damage caused by the flood. Communities close to the Weija Dam, including Weija, Oblogo and Tetegu, have been submerged by a flood for the past three days after the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) opened five spill gates of the Weija dam to spill water to save it from collapse. Dr. Kwabena Opuni-Frimpong, has entreated the clergy to adopt the palaces as a centre of worship in rediscovering the purpose of the church.
