Pay our 2022/23 BRA by October 21 or we strike – UTAG to the government

The University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) has asked the government to pay them their 2023/23 Book and Research Allowance (BRA) by Saturday, October 21.  It said if this warning is not heeded, they will embark on an industrial action.  UTAG issued the warning in its communiqué released on Monday, October 16, signed by its National President, Professor Mamudu A. The EU has warned Elon Musk that X is being used to spread "disinformation" after Hamas' attack on Israel. In a post on the site formerly known as Twitter, the bloc's industry chief said "violent and terrorist content" had not been taken down, despite warnings - as is required by EU law. Twelve Thais have been killed and another 11 kidnapped in the conflict between Israel and Hamas militants. Another eight Thai nationals have also been injured, said Thailand's foreign ministry on Monday. The ministry added that air force planes are on standby to fly its citizens home. There are some 30,000 Thais in Israel, working in fields such as nursing and construction, alongside workers from more than 50 countries. At least 10 people, including three children, were killed when the roof of a church collapsed in northern Mexico. The collapse happened on Sunday afternoon local time as around 100 people were attending a baptism at Santa Cruz church in Ciudad Madero. Residents in some flood-affected communities in Agbozume in the Ketu South Municipality, of the Volta Region, are still counting their losses after they were rendered homeless by floods. According to the residents, the flood started in May this year, destroying many properties and rendering families homeless, leaving them distressed and frustrated.
