The ‘crazy’ stats behind Leverkusen’s Bundesliga title win

Bayer Leverkusen are champions of Germany for the first time in their 120-year history. Xabi Alonso's side wrapped up the title with five games to spare after a crushing 5-0 win over Werder Bremen in front of their jubilant supporters. Overjoyed fans spilled on to the pitch to celebrate after Leverkusen moved to 79 points - 16 more than nearest rivals Bayern Munich - with just 15 points left to play for. It is a remarkable achievement by former Liverpool and Real Madrid midfielder Alonso, who took charge in October 2022 with the club second bottom of the table. Leverkusen's triumph ended Bayern's stranglehold on the league after 11 title wins in a row. 'Quite unbelievable' Bayern Munich have dominated German football to such an extent that the last team to win the Bundesl...

Ghana News, Pentecost News
Apostle Wilberforce Nkrumah-Agyeman, the Teshie-Nungua Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, has affirmed that the death of Jesus Christ on the cross has broken all curses on the lives of believers. Speaking on the topic, “The transforming power of the cross unleashed,” with Scripture reference from 1 Corinthians 1:18 at the PIWCs Zone Convention held at the PIWC Sakumono on Good Friday, Apostle Nkrumah-Agyeman stated: “All our curses, including generational curses have all been canceled.” Apostle Nkrumah-Agyeman explained that for God to create things, he only had to speak, but when it got to the redemption of human beings, God had to bleed, saying, “He had to take that difficult route to be nailed for blood to come out of him to redeem us.” Throwing light on the salvation from C...

Where do ‘forever chemicals’ in drinking water come from?

Health & Wellbeing, International
The US is introducing new environmental protections aimed at limiting long-lived PFAS chemicals in tap water, but these are only the tip of a very persistent iceberg. They are in the water we drink, the packaging of the food we eat, the utensils we cook with, the beds we sleep in, the clothes we wear and even within our own bodies. There is no escaping so-called "forever chemicals", a set of long-lasting and potentially harmful human-made substances that infuse almost every environment on the planet. The US government is imposing its first-ever national restrictions on five of these individual chemicals, known as per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), plus limits on mixtures that include a sixth PFAS compound. The Environmental Protec...

Botswana threatens to send 20,000 elephants to Germany

Africa News, International
The president of Botswana has threatened to send 20,000 elephants to Germany in a dispute over conservation. Earlier this year, Germany's environment ministry suggested there should be stricter limits on importing trophies from hunting animals. Botswana's President Mokgweetsi Masisi told German media this would only impoverish people in his country. He said elephant numbers had exploded as a result of conservation efforts, and hunting helped keep them in check. Germans should "live together with the animals, in the way you are trying to tell us to", Mr Masisi told German newspaper Bild. "This is no joke." Botswana is home to about a third of the world's elephant population - over 130,000 - more than it has space for. Herds were causing damage to property, eating crops and...

A Taste Of Sin And The Importance Of Upholding Suspensions In The Church Community

Inspired by the touching narrative of “A Taste of Sin,” a new Christian movie trending, this article aims to underscore the significance of adhering to church principles, particularly concerning the suspension of church members from activities. The film portrays the journey of a pastor suspended from the church due to an affair with a choir member, resulting in her tragic death from an abortion. However, through genuine repentance during his suspension, both God and the church restored him. While the movie primarily serves as a cautionary tale for men of God and Christians to remain vigilant against temptation, it prompts a deeper examination of a vital church practice: SUSPENSIONS. In the realm of religious communities, the decision to suspend church members from activities and g...
