One Ghanaian delegate goes ‘missing’ after Commonwealth Games

One Ghanaian delegate is said to be among the reported missing athletes and delegates after the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. According to the UK police, the number of missing persons has risen to 17, which includes 13 athletes and four others who were with individual teams. Out of the 17 persons to go missing, eight of them have been found with the remaining eight still unaccounted for. The eight others who are yet to be seen include a Ghanaian, with five others from the Sri Lankan squad. Both a competitor from Botswana and a competitor from Cameroon vanished, but both have since been located. The Marketing Director of Delta Paper Mill Limited, Barbara Incoom, has called on the public to embrace the use of disposable handkerchiefs instead of the traditional cloth handkerchief. She explained that the change was significant during post COVID-19 era as the country was making efforts to minimise the spread of disease-causing germs and bacteria. “I understand change takes time, but it’s the best option we face as a people today. The daughter of Rev Prince Nyarko told the website that on the day her father passed he had woken up early in the morning to pray. However, he was later found dead in his room when her mother went to serve him breakfast, Nana Ama said.
