The University of Ghana Stadium is one of the major venues that will be used during the 13th edition of the African Games. The facility was officially commissioned by Vice President Dr Mahamadu Bawumia in time ahead of the start of the Games to be staged in Ghana this month. Handed to Consar Limited, the University of Ghana Stadium has a standard football pitch, an 8-lane running track, an 8-lane, warm-up track, an athletic oval, a media centre, a VVIP Lounge, offices and an upgraded rugby pitch. A journalist, Richard Dela Sky has filed a lawsuit against Parliament at the Supreme Court regarding the passage of the Anti-LGBTQ+ bill. The controversial bill was unanimously passed by legislators on February 28, 2024, after years of deliberation. Pressure is intensifying on President Akufo-Addo from Members of Parliament to sign the bill into law. However, the President has already indicated that he will refrain from giving his assent until the court makes a pronouncement on the case. Ghanaian chef, Failatu Abdul-Razak’s attempt to break the world record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual has been unsuccessful. She had intended to beat the official 119-hour record set by Alan Fisher. But in a press release posted on her Instagram page on Sunday, March 3, Chef Faila announced that her attempt did not meet some of the stringent guidelines set by the Guinness World Records (GWR).  “A statement from the Records Management Team cited a violation of the rest break rules, resulting in an unsuccessful attempt,” part of the statement read.
