Apostle Nyamekye Challenges Believers to Seek Eternal Purpose

Apostle Nyamekye Challenges Believers to Seek Eternal Purpose

Pent TV, Pentecost News
The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has underscored the need for spiritual transformation in today's world, urging believers to embrace a life centred on Christ by moving beyond material pursuits to attain eternal significance. ‘A new life is not about money, jobs, houses, or cars,’ Apostle Nyamekye stated. ‘It is the life of God in man—eternal life that begins when we believe in Jesus Christ.’ He said this on Sunday, May 25, 2025, during a sermon he presented titled: ‘The World Needs a New Life,’ at the Merry Villas District in the La Area of the church. Referencing John 14:6, he highlighted that true life is found in Christ alone. He further explained that without Christ, individuals are prone to immoral behaviours, as outlined in Galatians 5:19. H...

Be Yielded to the Holy Spirit – Apostle Lawrence Oduro-Nyarko

Pentecost News
The Elmina Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Lawrence Oduro-Nyarko, has urged all Christians to be fully yielded to the directives of the Holy Spirit. Speaking on the topic “The Holy Spirit, the Life of the Church”, he emphasised the importance of total dependence on the Holy Spirit in both church administration and personal life. He noted that the Holy Spirit does not require assistance from any other power, as He carries immense power in Himself—power that is the strength and life of the Church. Apostle Oduro-Nyarko made this clarion call during a meeting with all officers in the Area on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at the Elmina Central Assembly. Drawing from Ezekiel 47:1-12 and Acts 1:8, he explained that just as the Spirit of the Lord took the prophet Ezekiel to a stream...
The Logic Of Faith & The Faith Of Logic

The Logic Of Faith & The Faith Of Logic

Features
The relationship between faith and logic has long been debated. To some, they are irreconcilable opposites—faith belongs to the heart, and logic to the mind. But Scripture, reason, and the rich heritage of Christian thought all affirm that faith and logic are not enemies, but allies. Faith does not ask us to abandon our minds at the door, and logic, when rightly applied, does not lead us away from God but toward Him. The God who calls us to believe is the same God who created our capacity to think. THE HISTORICAL JOURNEY OF FAITH AND LOGIC The idea that faith and logic are fundamentally at odds is a relatively recent development. In the ancient world, philosophers such as Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle saw no need to draw a firm boundary between the spiritual and the rational. For...

Fasting & Prayer: The Powerhouse For The Unleashing Agenda

Features
Fasting and prayer, in this context, can be likened to a lion kept in its den without food or water. The moment it is unleashed, it devours every edible creature that crosses its path. According to Acts 13:2–3: "While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, 'Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.' So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off (unleashed them)." After Saul and Barnabas were unleashed, they began to take over their world and transform it because they had received the power of the Holy Spirit through fasting and prayer. We live in a world where many Christians feel timid about sharing the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ—just as the apostles were once afraid to spea...

Pentecost Week: Reflecting On The Impact Of The Holy Spirit In The Modern Church

Features
As we celebrate Pentecost and reflect on the significance of the Holy Spirit, it becomes clear that the Spirit's power continues to shape and guide the modern church, influencing believers in many ways. The following aspects highlight the ongoing relevance of the Holy Spirit in today’s context. Empowerment for Ministry The empowerment of believers through the Holy Spirit is a hallmark of Pentecostal theology. In the contemporary church, this empowerment translates into vibrant ministries that reach out to various needs—spiritual, physical, and emotional. Churches are increasingly recognizing the diverse gifts that the Holy Spirit imparts to individuals, encouraging lay participation and equipping all members for service. Such empowerment not only strengthens the church internally but...
Positioning Your Heart In The Right Atmosphere For Revival: The Role Of Penitence & Fasting

Positioning Your Heart In The Right Atmosphere For Revival: The Role Of Penitence & Fasting

Features
Revival is not a random spiritual outburst; it is a divine response to hearts that are rightly positioned—hearts that are humbled, broken, and hungry for God. Scripture and church history consistently reveal that penitence and fasting are key in preparing the heart for revival. Penitence is more than mere regret; it is godly sorrow that leads to true repentance and lasting transformation (2 Corinthians 7:10). It acknowledges God's holiness, our sinfulness, and our desperate need for His mercy. When David was confronted by the prophet Nathan, he responded with brokenness and prayed, “Create in me a clean heart, O God” (Psalm 51:10). This posture of humility is the very heart God revives. Fasting, on the other hand, expresses spiritual hunger. It is not a way to manipulate God, but a m...
Power To The People: Rethinking Local Governance In Ghana

Power To The People: Rethinking Local Governance In Ghana

Features
Democracy, at its core, is power vested in the people—a government by the people and for the people. But in Ghana, does governance truly reflect this principle? My recent visit to Germany for a conference exposed a stark difference in how local governance functions. In Oberhausen, a relatively small and “remote” city, systems worked seamlessly. Roads were in good condition, sanitation was well-managed, and community development was not dependent on politicians’ benevolence. Governance was not just a distant concept but an everyday practice. Back home in Ghana, however, local governance appears weak, with citizens having little or no real influence over the spaces they inhabit. A critical problem lies in the widespread ignorance surrounding the roles of Members of Parliament (MPs) and Me...
Ghana’s Vehicle Paradox: Roadworthy Cars Parked, Unroadworthy Ones Dominating The Roads

Ghana’s Vehicle Paradox: Roadworthy Cars Parked, Unroadworthy Ones Dominating The Roads

Features
Welcome to Ghana, a country where the best cars aren’t on the roads, but parked in showrooms and dealerships—often waiting years to be sold. Meanwhile, thousands of citizens jostle for space in rickety, smoke-belching commercial vehicles that should have been retired long ago. The contrast is striking. Why is it that brand-new and relatively new vehicles remain idle in dealerships while the majority of Ghanaians rely on aging, unroadworthy cars for daily transport? During a recent visit to Oberhausen, Germany, I couldn’t help but notice the absence of old, decrepit vehicles on the roads. In my week-long stay, I did not spot a single car in poor condition. Every vehicle appeared well-maintained, efficient, and safe. This left me wondering: how does Ghana enforce roadworthiness tests, and...
The Poster Plague: How Ghana’s Public Spaces Are Being Defaced

The Poster Plague: How Ghana’s Public Spaces Are Being Defaced

Features
Walk through the streets of Accra, Kumasi, or any major town in Ghana, and you will see a familiar sight—posters and banners plastered on every available surface. Politicians, churches, businesses, and event organisers all compete for visibility, leaving a chaotic mix of advertisements on walls, street poles, and even trees. The problem is not just the sheer volume of these posters but the way they are scattered haphazardly, turning our cities into visual clutter. What’s worse? Once the events are over, nobody takes responsibility for cleaning up. Worn-out posters peel off and litter the streets, while faded banners swing loosely long after their relevance has expired. The result is a cityscape that looks disorganised and neglected. Something is not right. In many developed countries, pu...
