Government Commissions 97.6km Tema-Mpakadan Railway Line

The Government of Ghana has officially inaugurated the 97.6-kilometer railway line connecting Tema to Mpakadan, marking a significant milestone in addressing key national development challenges.

The rail line is expected to reduce transportation costs, alleviate road congestion, and enhance logistics, thereby boosting economic activities and facilitating trade between the southern and northern regions of the country.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo underscored the project’s transformative potential. He highlighted its capacity to create jobs, reduce traffic congestion, and provide an environmentally sustainable transportation alternative.

The President further noted that the railway would play a pivotal role in supporting key sectors such as agriculture and mining by ensuring the efficient transportation of goods across the country.

This landmark project forms part of the government’s broader agenda to expand Ghana’s railway network and modernize its infrastructure, paving the way for sustained economic growth in the years to come.
