Juaben District Children’s Ministry Organises Free Medical Screening For Children

The Children’s Ministry of the Juaben District in the Ejisu Area of The Church of Pentecost, has organised a free medical screening for its members.

The event, held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the Juaben Central Assembly auditorium, saw the patrons screened for ear, nose, throat, and eye health. A total of 170 children and some adults participated.

Healthcare professionals from the Ejisu District Government Hospital, led by Mrs Joanna Agyei, conducted the screenings.

During the exercise, the children and parents were educated on primary care measures to avoid injuries to these essential organs, such as putting objects into the ears and noses. Some children had their ears washed, and the consulting nurse prescribed medications for others.

Additionally, some children were referred to the district hospital for further check-ups.

The District Children’s Ministry Leader, Deaconess Comfort Amoakoh, on behalf of her executive members, expressed gratitude to the health workers for their free services to the district. As a side attraction, the children were engaged in picture colouring and painting exercises to help develop their creative skills.

Pastor Martin Ossom Boafo, the District Minister, who was present at the event, commended the District Children’s Ministry for organising the screening exercise. He noted that some children may be struggling in their studies due to undiagnosed eye and ear problems.

He emphasised that parents often do not have regular screenings for their children due to lack of awareness or financial constraints, making such interventions incredibly valuable.
