The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has identified prayer as one of the defining pillars of the Church’s remarkable growth and global impact, describing The Church of Pentecost as “a praying church.”
Speaking in an interview on the sidelines of the Pentecost Conference 2026 in Oberhausen, Germany, Apostle Nyamekye said the Church’s commitment to prayer has enabled it to continually access God’s grace, which has sustained its ministry and propelled it to greater Kingdom exploits.
“The Church of Pentecost is a praying church,” he stated.
According to the Chairman, prayer is not merely a spiritual discipline but an expression of complete dependence on God. He explained that through prayer, believers gain access to God’s grace, which empowers them to accomplish His purposes.
“Through prayer we access the grace of God, and it is that grace that propels us,” he said.
Apostle Nyamekye noted that genuine prayer reflects humility because it acknowledges human limitations and recognises that true success comes from God rather than personal ability.
“When you pray, you are choosing not to rely on your own strength but on God,” he explained.
Reflecting on the journey of The Church of Pentecost, the Chairman observed that although the Church has developed strong administrative systems, sound governance structures and effective ministry models, these alone cannot explain its sustained growth and worldwide impact.
“The Church may have strong systems and structures, but in the end, it all boils down to the grace of God,” he emphasised.
He therefore encouraged believers never to substitute organisational excellence for spiritual dependence, stressing that every lasting Kingdom achievement begins with prayer and is sustained by God’s grace.
Looking ahead, Apostle Nyamekye expressed his desire for future generations of Church leaders and members to preserve this rich spiritual heritage.
“I pray that the next generation will carry this on,” he said, urging them to remain steadfast in prayer so they too can access God’s grace and accomplish even greater exploits for the Kingdom.
His remarks reinforce the central message of the Pentecost Conference 2026 that God’s work advances not by human strength alone, but through believers who continually depend on Him in prayer and walk in the abundance of His grace.
