The Pentecost Social Services (PENTSOS), through its Graduate Apprenticeship Expansion Programme, has supported 16 artisans in the Kintampo Area with essential working tools to enable them to commence operations as master craftsmen.
The support package included eight electric sewing machines, two knitting machines, one vulcanising machine with its attendant accessories, four standing dryers with hairdressing accessories, and a welding machine. The equipment was procured at a total cost of GHS 62,000, fully funded by The Church of Pentecost through PENTSOS.
This intervention forms part of the Kintampo Area’s vision to promote the holistic development of members, recognising that social support and economic empowerment are vital components of the Church’s mission. The beneficiaries, who are all members of The Church of Pentecost, were identified through their respective districts as individuals who had successfully acquired artisanal skills but lacked the necessary tools to begin practising their crafts.
As part of the programme’s sustainability model, each beneficiary is required to train two apprentices free of charge. The working tools for these apprentices will be provided by their respective districts, ensuring that the initiative continues to create opportunities for skills development and economic empowerment within the Church and surrounding communities.
A presentation ceremony was held on March 20, 2026, at the Grace Boahen Memorial Temple in Kintampo to officially hand over the tools to the beneficiaries. Addressing the gathering, the Kintampo Area Head, Apostle Francis Agyemang Badu, underscored the vital role churches play in transforming societies, noting the significant impact The Church of Pentecost continues to make in communities where it operates.
He admonished the beneficiaries to remain grateful to God for the opportunity and to work diligently while serving as godly examples in their various professions. He further charged them to train their apprentices in the way of the Lord, emphasising that the Church’s vision of possessing the nations can be advanced through godly craftsmanship and excellence.
Apostle Agyemang Badu also expressed appreciation to the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Dr Eric Nyamekye, and the leadership of PENTSOS for their consistent and impactful support to the Kintampo Area.
The Kintampo Area PENTSOS Coordinator, Pastor Daniel Koranteng Kwagyiri, who served as liaison for the initiative, used the occasion to educate members and the public on the activities of PENTSOS, the social intervention arm of the Church, and encouraged members to initiate social support programmes wherever possible.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressions of gratitude were conveyed to God for His provision and to the Chairman of the Church, the National PENTSOS Director, the Kintampo Area Head, and the Area PENTSOS Coordinator for their instrumental roles in making the intervention possible.
