Apostle Johnny Peprah Urges Christians To Practise Excellent Tithing For Generational Blessings

An Assistant Registrar at Pentecost University, Apostle Johnny Lartey Peprah, has called on Christians to embrace a culture of excellent tithing, emphasising its spiritual significance and the enduring blessings it brings.
He delivered the message during a sermon themed “The Blessings of Excellent Tithing” at the PMKY Worship Centre at Kasoa on Sunday, February 15, 2025, drawing on Luke 18:18–30 and Mark 10:21-30.
Apostle Peprah noted that tithes and offerings form a crucial aspect of a believer’s relationship with God. Giving, he explained, should not be reduced to a mere financial transaction but understood as an act of obedience and devotion that deepens one’s walk with God. Faithful tithing, he said, demonstrates a heart fully surrendered to God.
He warned believers against placing their trust in material possessions, describing them as unreliable and temporary. Instead, he urged them to anchor their faith and hope in Jesus Christ, reminding them that trust in God remains firm even when life becomes uncertain.
Apostle Peprah stressed that God requires believers to offer their whole heart, soul, and mind to Him. He encouraged Christians to love their neighbours as themselves, calling this an essential expectation God has for His children.
Speaking on the rewards of obedience, he highlighted the certainty of both earthly and heavenly blessings for those who commit themselves faithfully to God’s instructions. Such blessings, he noted, are not fleeting but can extend to future generations, particularly for those who consistently pay their tithes and offerings.
He likened tithing to sowing seeds and entering into a covenant with God. Through this covenant, he said, divine blessings flow continually into the lives of believers and their descendants. Contributions made towards God’s work, he added, attract divine strength and grace to thrive.
Referencing the biblical principle of sowing and reaping, Apostle Peprah reiterated that generous givers will in turn reap generously. He emphasised that giving carries a greater blessing than receiving, describing God’s presence as the ultimate reward.
Encouraging spiritual growth, he challenged the congregation to go beyond the basic ten percent tithe. While acknowledging that the ten percent remains the foundation, he urged mature believers to give beyond that threshold, suggesting offerings of up to twenty-five percent as an expression of deeper faith and commitment.
He further urged Christians to give their tithes in holiness, faithfulness, and joy, assuring them that God is able to turn their situations around. Those who sow in tears, he reminded them, will surely reap in abundance.
Apostle Johnny Lartey Peprah concluded his sermon with a declaration of blessings over the congregation, affirming that excellent and faithful tithing unlocks lasting and generational blessings from God.
The service was hosted by the Resident Minister, Pastor Fred Amoakohene Sarpong, who also serves as a lecturer at Pentecost University.
