As part of his four-day working visit to the Weija Area, the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Dr Eric Nyamekye, has called on officers and leaders to wholeheartedly embrace and strategically advance Vision 2028, the Church’s mandate to unleash members into society as transformational agents. The meeting, held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at the New Weija Central (Mandela), brought together ministers, officers, and key leadership across the Area.
In his address, the Chairman stressed that the Weija Area does not need a different agenda, but must remain firmly aligned with the global Possessing the Nations vision. Citing Ephesians 3:10–11, he explained that God’s ultimate purpose is that His manifold wisdom will be revealed to the systems, structures, and powers of the world – and the Church is God’s chosen vessel to achieve this. A church that walks in God’s will, he assured, “is bound to be blessed by God.”
Reflecting on the journey from 2018 to 2023, Apostle Dr Nyamekye noted that the Church intentionally focused on equipping believers. Under Vision 2028, however, the emphasis shifts from equipping to unleashing; mobilising members to actively influence and transform society with the Gospel. Without a clear vision, he warned, “we become like a ship without a rudder.” He further stressed that compelling visions strengthen institutions and ensure unity among all stakeholders.
He encouraged ministers and officers to treat each year’s theme with seriousness and consistency. Annual themes, he said, must be preached, taught, and rooted deeply in the hearts of members. “A vision cannot change society unless it is supported by passion, commitment, understanding, and prayer,” he emphasised.
Touching on the core of Vision 2028, he explained that members must be unleashed into all spheres of influence – homes, schools, workplaces, markets, media, governance, the creative arts, and more. The mandate involves transforming souls and transforming society, ensuring both spiritual renewal and social development. “Children, youth, adults, rich, poor; no one is exempt. Everyone has a role in Possessing the Nations,” he said.
The Chairman further clarified that ministry extends beyond church programs. Any action that brings a sector of society under Christ’s influence is ministry. Referencing Jesus’ prayer in John 17:15, he reminded leaders that the Church’s true assignment occurs in the world, not within its buildings.
Apostle Dr Nyamekye also encouraged strengthening urban ministry to help sustain rural missions, and highlighted the need to intentionally engage celebrities whose influence can draw multitudes into the Kingdom.
In his concluding exhortation, he urged officers to fully embrace the 2026 theme, be filled with the Holy Spirit, and serve faithfully so they may be a blessing at home, in the Church, and across every sphere of society.
