The Church of Pentecost has reiterated its commitment to environmental stewardship at the West Africa Green Economy Roundtable and Awards (WAGER) 2025 held at the Alisa Hotel in Accra on Wednesday, September 24, 2025.
Apostle Ing. Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi, the immediate past General Secretary of the church, representing Chairman, Apostle Dr Eric Nyamekye, emphasised the Church’s role in promoting sustainability and protecting God’s creation.
Apostle Kumi-Larbi stressed that environmental degradation is a pressing issue that requires collective action from governments, businesses, academia, and civil society. He cited Psalm 24:1, “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it,” underscoring the Church’s belief in stewardship as a sacred duty.
The event, organised by Pent Media Centre in collaboration with African Consolidated Analytical Limited (Nigeria), coincided with Pent TV’s 10th anniversary, marking a decade of growth and impact in the media landscape. The WAGER 2025 aimed to shape a greener, more sustainable West Africa through collaboration and dialogue.
Apostle Kumi-Larbi expressed gratitude to God for the progress and thanked the board, management, and staff of Pent Media Centre for their dedication.
He prayed that the discussions would yield actionable strategies, transformative partnerships, and a renewed sense of moral and spiritual responsibility.
Citing Proverbs 13:22, Apostle Kumi-Larbi emphasised the importance of leaving a lasting inheritance for future generations, built on clean energy, healthy cities, fertile lands, and societies in harmony with God’s creation.
The Church of Pentecost’s Environmental Care Campaign has mobilised communities to plant trees, clean cities, manage waste, and promote attitudes that honour God’s creation.
The WAGER 2025 served as a platform for collective action towards a sustainable future, aligning with the Church’s vision to influence every sphere of society with Kingdom values and principles.
