The New Gbawe District Minster of The Church of Pentecost, Pastor Peter Danso Duku, has challenged Christian women to embrace their divine responsibility of building godly homes through prayer, intentional training, and exemplary character, noting that the future of society is shaped within the home.
He made these remarks on Sunday, May 10, 2026, during the climax of the National Women’s Week celebrations at the English Assembly of A-Lang Worship Centre.
Speaking on the theme, “The Role of the Woman in Building a Godly Home,” Pastor Duku drew inspiration from 2 Timothy 1:5, where Apostle Paul acknowledged the sincere faith of Timothy’s mother, Eunice, and grandmother, Lois.
He explained that just as their faith was imparted to Timothy, Christian mothers today have the responsibility to nurture and transmit godly values to their children.
“Transforming society begins with building godly homes,” he stated, encouraging women not to give up on children who may appear to be straying from the faith.
“Maybe your children are going astray; do not lose hope. It is not too late. Pray for them, lay hands on them, and trust God for their transformation,” he urged.
Referencing Deuteronomy 6:6-7, Pastor Duku emphasized the need for parents to diligently teach their children the Word of God.
He noted that children can only reflect godly values when they are intentionally grounded in Scripture.
“Many people expect our children to live holy lives, but holiness does not happen automatically. We must intentionally sow the Word of God into their lives so they will carry it wherever they go,” he said.
Quoting Proverbs 14:1 and Proverbs 22:6, he stressed that training children requires deliberate effort and consistency.
He cautioned that children often imitate what they see at home, noting that unhealthy behaviour between spouses can negatively shape a child’s future relationships.
“If a woman constantly quarrels with her husband at home, the child may grow up to replicate the same behaviour in marriage,” he explained.
Pastor Duku also highlighted the importance of intercessory prayer, urging women to continually pray for their families regardless of distance or circumstance.
Additionally, he encouraged women to manage their homes diligently, monitor the activities of their children, and serve as supportive partners to their husbands.
He noted that God intentionally created women to complement men, adding that mutual financial support and unity are essential ingredients for a stable Christian home.
Touching on the issue of family stability, Pastor Duku urged couples to uphold the sanctity of marriage and avoid divorce, stressing its adverse effects on children.
He further called on Christian women to cultivate bold and exemplary character, noting that their conduct can either draw people closer to Christ or drive them away.
