Apostle Francis Agyemang Badu, the Kintampo Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, has declared that the time Christians spend with God is a vital investment that yields lasting dividends in ministry. He made this assertion while speaking on the theme “Sinai, Where Moses Met God” at the Kintampo Area Annual Ministers and Wives Pre-Christmas Retreat, emphasising the importance of intentional devotion and disciplined fellowship with God as a foundational resource for effective Christian service.
Apostle Agyemang Badu noted that the habit of meeting with God should be cultivated by every believer. He explained that God’s presence is not easily encountered and requires deliberate preparation. Drawing from Exodus 19:1–25, he highlighted Moses’ encounter with God on Mount Sinai, showing that while God initiates encounters with His people, He requires their willingness to obey, sensitivity to hear, consecration, and deep reverence.
He stressed that God’s purpose in meeting His people is to communicate His written Word, reveal His mind, and provide detailed instruction for the Tabernacle, symbolic of our lives and ministry. Believers are therefore called to approach God with humility and reverence, recognising His eternal holiness.
To help Christians apply these lessons, Apostle Agyemang Badu outlined four practical principles for meeting with God. First, a dedicated place is essential, whether a room, desk, or quiet corner conducive to focus and reflection. Second, preparation of the heart and mind is critical to receiving from God, including obedience, sensitivity, and consecration. Third, the Scriptures serve as the primary guide for discerning God’s mind and direction. Finally, maintaining a journal or notebook helps believers record insights and instructions from God, ensuring they remember and apply His guidance in daily life.
Concluding his message, Apostle Agyemang Badu encouraged ministers and all Christians to cultivate the daily practice of meeting with God, describing it as a spiritually profitable investment that enhances personal devotion and strengthens ministry effectiveness.
The annual Ministers and Wives Pre-Christmas Retreat, held this year at Peace Villa Hotel in Nchiraa, Bono East Region, was designed to foster spiritual revival, renewal, and encouragement among ministers and their spouses in the Kintampo Area, equipping them for impactful service in the Church.
