President Mahama Hails Outgoing German Ambassador For Productive Tenure

President John Dramani Mahama has expressed his appreciation for Germany’s unwavering support for Ghana, highlighting the country’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties. The President made these remarks during a farewell meeting with outgoing German Ambassador Daniel Krull, who concluded his four-year tenure in Ghana. President Mahama described Ambassador Krull described his term as “highly productive,” citing significant collaborations between the two nations.

Ambassador Krull noted that three German IT companies have established a presence in Ghana, working with local talent to integrate them into IT development groups. This initiative has not only boosted Ghana’s IT sector but also provided opportunities for young Ghanaians to develop their skills.

The German Embassy has launched a demand-driven program to provide young Ghanaians with high-value education and vocational training in Germany. This program, which includes German language training, is designed to meet the specific needs of German companies operating in Ghana.

Germany has also expressed its commitment to supporting Ghana’s climate agenda, particularly in areas such as climate adaptation, mitigation, and sustainable development. Ambassador Krull highlighted Germany’s financing mechanisms and initiatives aimed at promoting climate resilience and sustainability in Ghana

The meeting between President Mahama and Ambassador Krull demonstrates the strong partnership between Ghana and Germany. Both nations are committed to deepening their cooperation in various sectors, including IT, education, and climate change. President Mahama has reiterated Ghana’s commitment to fostering international partnerships and strengthening diplomatic ties, emphasising the importance of cooperation in tackling global challenges
