The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has reiterated that the Church’s growing investment in national infrastructure and community development is not a show of affluence, but a faithful expression of biblical values.
Speaking at the commissioning of the Pentecost Fire Station on May 14, 2025, Apostle Nyamekye quoted Acts 20:35: “It is more blessed to give than to receive,” emphasising that the Church’s developmental projects stem from a Christ-centred mission, not from financial surplus.
“We are doing all these not because we have in abundance,” he explained, “but to demonstrate the love of Christ and contribute meaningfully to national growth.”
He further quoted former U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt, saying, “What is done for the community lives beyond the individual,” to underscore the Church’s vision of creating lasting impact through legacy-driven development.
The Chairman noted that the newly commissioned fire station is part of broader church-led interventions that strengthen Ghana’s national security and emergency response systems. He reaffirmed the Church’s commitment to strategic partnerships with government institutions to advance national development.
Apostle Nyamekye listed some of the Church’s key infrastructure projects, including two police stations, two prison reformation centres (Ejura and Nsawam), with additional centres under construction at Obuasi and Damongo. The Damongo facility is expected to be commissioned in June 2025.
In the social sector, the Church has also made significant strides. Between 2019 and 2024, it installed 239 mechanised boreholes across underserved communities, benefitting more than 110,000 people. The Church is currently constructing five new health facilities—including a specialist hospital—to add to its 12 existing medical centres.
Apostle Nyamekye emphasised that these efforts are not merely acts of charity, but a practical demonstration of the Church’s mission to transform society with Kingdom values.
“As a church, we believe that we have been called not only to worship God but also to serve His purpose within society,” he said.
