The Twifo Praso Area of The Church of Pentecost has concluded its 2025 Easter Convention in a splendid manner, winning a total of 141 souls, out of which 107 were baptised in water.
The convention, which was held under the theme, ‘That I May Know Him And The Power Of His Resurrection’ (Philippians 3:10), took place at Twifo Praso D/A B & C Basic School Park, from Wednesday, April 16 to Sunday, April 20, 2025, under the chairmanship of the Area Head, Apostle Lawrence Otu-Nyarko.
Climaxing the convention was the ordination of 86 new officers of the church, comprising 20 elders, 23 deacons, and 43 deaconesses.
During the event, 49 members received the Holy Spirit baptism, while 78 received divine healing. The convention was attended by 7,776 members, comprising 1,408 men, 4,758 women, and 1,610 children.
Preaching the sermon to climax the convention on Sunday, Apostle Lawrence Otu-Nyarko spoke on the topic, ‘Unleashed With The Power of The Resurrection to Transform Your World’ (Philippians 3:10, Ephesians 1:18-23, Romans 8:11). He explained that through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, Satan has been disarmed of his power; death is no longer a terror to the children of God, and every written code against the children of God has been canceled, thereby ushering humanity into the very presence of God.
He stated that although the stone, tomb, Pilate’s seal, soldiers, Satan, and the high priests made every effort to prevent Jesus from His resurrection, the exceedingly great and mighty power of God conquered all those obstacles and brought Him back to life. He challenged Christians to build their hope on the power that raised Jesus from the dead rather than on anything material since that power is still at work.
‘The grave is a place of darkness, loneliness, helplessness, and loss of potential, but God did not allow His Son to suffer all these. In the same way, He will never abandon you if you remain faithful to Him. You have been unleashed with the power of the resurrection to transform your world, so do not let anything terrify you,’ he emphasised.
Some of the main speakers at the convention were Pastor Paul Mensah (Area Secretary and Wassa Ateiku District Minister), Pastor Frank Larbi (Area Evangelism Ministry Leader and Twifo Praso District Minister), and Pastor Jonathan Oman Nartey (Area Children’s Ministry Leader and Wassa Akyempim District Minister), among others.
Present at the programme were Mrs Doris Otu-Nyarko (Wife of the Area Head), Pastor Solomon Kofi Edusah (retd) and his wife Martha, Mr Daniel Kojo Nyame (Managing Director of Twifo Oil Palm Plantations Ltd.), and the pastors in the Area and their spouses, among other dignitaries.
