In a heartwarming outreach effort, the Up African Movement, a digital trading company focused on reducing poverty, has organized a street-feeding initiative to support vulnerable children and families in Kumasi.
The programme, dubbed the Up Project Charity Initiative, is part of the company’s broader mission to empower Ghanaians through online trading education and financial literacy. The initiative kicked off at the Amakom Children’s Park and extended through Asafo, Adum, and other nearby communities.
Volunteers distributed bags of rice, cooking oil, and hot meals—including jollof rice and drinks—to street children and low-income families, bringing hope and joy to many.
Speaking to the media, David Megga, Director of Up African Movement, emphasized the importance of giving back to society. He disclosed that beyond providing food, the organization is working on long-term plans to rescue children from the streets, provide education, and equip them with skills for financial independence.
Mr. Megga also highlighted the growing concern over youth vulnerability to crime and substance abuse due to poverty, and called for collaborative efforts to tackle these issues. He reiterated the organisation’s commitment to bridging the financial literacy gap among Ghanaian youth, calling the initiative a “beacon of hope” for the future.
