
Deaconess Mrs Georgina Akua Padi of the Alajo District English Assembly of The Church of Pentecost in Accra has been honoured with the Heroine Humanitarian of the Year award.
The accolade was presented to Deaconess Padi, who serves as the Acting Executive Assistant at the La Area Office of the church, during a special event organised by Heroine Speech International on February 23, 2025, at the Dodowa Forest Hotel.
Georgina Akua Padi is the Founder and CEO of GAP Health Aid Foundation, an organisation dedicated to advocating for the Prevention of Mother-To-Child Transmission of HIV (PMTCT), Gender and Child Protection, with a strong focus on providing humanitarian support for HIV orphans. She also holds the position of La Area Media Ministry Secretary and is a Children’s Worker in the church.
Over sixty individuals and organisations received various awards, including those for fashion, health, long-term achievements, mentorship, humanitarian efforts, and leadership. The recipients were predominantly women who have made significant impacts in their respective fields.
The awards aimed to empower and encourage women to continue their commendable work in their communities, countries, and globally.
Upon receiving the award, Deaconess Georgina Akua Padi expressed her gratitude to God and the organisers for the honour. She pledged to continue her humanitarian efforts as a way of fulfilling her divine calling and mandate.
