The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has reaffirmed its preparedness to conduct the special voting exercise scheduled for Monday, December 2, 2024.
Speaking at a meeting with security chiefs at the Commission’s headquarters, EC Chairperson Madam Jean Mensa assured the public of a peaceful, transparent, and fair voting process. She emphasized that all essential materials, including ballot papers, biometric verification devices, indelible ink, and forms, are fully in place to ensure a seamless voting experience.
Madam Mensa described the special voting exercise as a critical test of the Commission’s readiness for the general elections slated for December 7, 2024.
The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, commended the EC for its meticulous preparations. He assured Ghanaians of maximum security throughout the electoral process and pledged unwavering support from all security agencies to safeguard the elections.
This collaborative effort between the EC and security forces underscores the nation’s commitment to ensuring credible and secure elections.
