The Information Management Department of The Church of Pentecost Headquarters, in collaboration with the Finance Department, has embarked on a groundbreaking initiative to uplift its operational efficiency by introducing a state-of-the-art Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system called PentERP.

The church recently organised a comprehensive IT training programme for key personnel to acquaint them with the nuances of the new platform.

Purpose of the Training:

According to the IT Manager of the church, Pastor Paul Odai Laryea, the core objective behind the training was to ensure smooth integration of the ERP system across all 78 administrative Areas of the church.

He said that by equipping Area Accountants, Area Deacons, and Area IT team members with the requisite knowledge and skills to navigate and utilise the system efficiently, the church aims to seamlessly transition its management functions to the digital platform.

Pastor Laryea, who led the training programme, noted that PentERP is tailored to meet the unique needs of The Church of Pentecost, saying, “It boasts features designed to streamline and simplify various administrative functions.

Some notable modules of the ERP system include Finance Management, a comprehensive tool to manage church finances, track expenses, and monitor financial growth.

Another module is Tithes Management, which will help efficiently manage and record tithes, ensuring transparency and accountability.

The other two modules are Sales and Procurement Management and Human Resources (HR).

He indicated that the Sales and Procurement Management facilitates the purchase of church supplies and tracks sales of church-related items. At the same time, the Human Resources module is a centralised system for managing church personnel, from recruitment to retirement.

Pastor Laryea hinted that the training was the beginning of a series of programmes intended to make The Church of Pentecost ‘IT ready.’

He stated: “With the new ERP system scheduled to go live in 2024, there’s much anticipation in the church community.”

Adding to the excitement, Pastor Laryea confirmed that the eagerly awaited Church Management System is slated for implementation next year.

The IT Manager took the opportunity to express his profound appreciation to the Executive Council and all Area Heads for their unwavering cooperation and commitment to the transformative project.

Touching on the impact of the training, Pastor Laryea said the feedback from the participants has been overwhelmingly positive, as many expressed their enthusiasm about the training and were confident in the positive impact the ERP system will have.

“They believe this progressive move will significantly enhance their productivity, enabling them to serve the church community better,” he stressed.

According to Pastor Paul Odai Laryea, as The Church of Pentecost steps into this digital era, “it is evident that the church’s dedication to embracing technology will undoubtedly lead to greater efficiency, transparency, and growth in the years to come.”
