Kaneshie Area Holds Crusade At Nsawam Prisons

The Kaneshie Area Prisons Ministry of The Church of Pentecost has organised a 3-day crusade concurrently at the Nsawam Medium Security Prison, Nsawam Female Prison and Nsawam Camp Prison.

The Pre-Easter crusade was held from March 31 to April 2, 2023, under the theme: “Jesus Christ! God’s Perfect Sacrifice that has brought Eternal Salvation” (Hebrews 7:23-28). It was aimed at leading the inmates to Christ and demonstrating the love of Christ to them through fellowship and donations.

The crusade yielded a total of 51 souls out of which 37 converts were baptised in water. Five other inmates were baptised in the Holy Spirit while several others received deliverances from demonic oppressions.

Speakers at the crusade were Apostle Samuel Osei Asante (Kaneshe Area Head and Member of the Executive Council), Apostle Dr. Amos Jimmy Markins (Evangelism Ministry Director), Apostle Francis Yaw Adu (Nsawam Area Head) and Apostle ADP (Rtd.) James Tetteh (Sekondi Area Head and Chairman, Prison Ministry of The Church of Pentecost).

Other were Pastor Adu Gyamfi Jnr., Pastor Alex Fofie, Deaconess Beatrice Kwaffo (former Women’s Director) and Deaconess Juliana Owusu (former Area Leader).

The leader of the team and Area Head for Kaneshie, Apostle Samuel Osei Asante, on behalf of the Kaneshie Area donated cooked food, food items and sanitary items estimated at GH¢25,000.00 to the inmates of the three prison establishments.

Receiving the items on behalf of the inmates was ADP Joseph Yankey. He expressed his appreciation on behalf of the Regional Commander, DDP Kwaku Ababio Ali, for the donation. He called on other churches to emulate the kind gesture by coming to the aid of the prisons.

Present at the event were the Chairman of the Kaneshie Area Prison Ministry, Overseer Anthony Kwadwo Obeng; the Secretary of the National Prisons Ministry, Pastor Supt. Moses Kwame Animah, and the Chaplain of the Nsawam Male Prison, Pastor ASP Thomas Owusu Brefo.

Others were Pastor Hayford Nsiah Yatimbo of Old Fadama District; the Kaneshie Area Women’s Leader, Deaconess Efia Bonsu and her assistant, Deaconess Gifty Danso, as well as Members of the Area Prisons Ministry and volunteers.
