The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that results for this year’s WASSCE will be released on November 30. The Council says it has successfully completed the marking and co-ordination of the papers at all 49 venues and has commenced the processing of the results. WAEC in a statement said investigations into examination irregularities detected during and after the exams are ongoing. “The Council is hereby urging school authorities and candidates who have been invited to its Offices to assist with investigations into suspected cases of malpractices to endeavour to honour the invitations to facilitate the speedy resolution of those cases,” the statement noted. 422,883 Candidates to write 2022 WASSCE for School Candidates

A total of 422,883 final-year senior high school (SHS) students across the country will write this year's West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for School Candidates. The examination, which begins with the practical session today, August 1, will involve 203,753 males and 219,130 females. The examination will be written in 977 schools, comprising 673 public schools and 304 private schools. It will be manned by 775 supervisors. According to statistics from the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) made available to the Daily Graphic, the Ashanti Region will present the highest number of candidates; 104,334. Only Ghanaian candidates are left to write the West African Senior High School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), scheduled from August 1 to September 27, 2022. This is because the other four-member countries of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) — Nigeria, Liberia, Sierra Leone and The Gambia — have returned to the May/June calendar and had administered the WASSCE for their school candidates from May 9 to June 24, this year.
